Review:Grand Isle United Methodist church is located on the resort island of the coast Louisiana's Gulf of Mexico. A very small member church, it offers spiritual and physical respite for those who venture to the island. The members welcome the visitor with smiles and conversation, as well as helpful information about the island, what it has to offer and the dangers present in the gulf waters.
Worship is vibrant and informal, currently led by pastor Reid and his guitar followed by in depth teaching from the Bible. The teaching is neither conservative or liberal but challenging to our current cultural situation in a more or less prophetic call to walk in the love of Jesus Christ.
Travelers will find a true sabbath celebration of God's love and grace at Grand Isle United Methodist. Further more one will discover that the church offers an opportunity for a longer stay in the Just A Closer Walk Retreat Center adjoined to the little island chapel. Scheduling of events or just a quiet getaway is encouraged with negotiations as to moderate pricing, making it accessible for anyone who senses within oneself a need for quiet renewal in the gulf breeze of God's peaceful creation and recreation.
